Along with their successful Bill & Rita Ament’s Summer Creative Arts Day Camps, they also own and operate their 24 year old business, Dance Happy, teaching ages 2 on up, teens, adults and adult seniors. They also teach a variety of Ballroom classes: Swing, Salsa, Fox Trot, and Clogging at their dance studio and at the elementary and high schools. This program culminates with their annual production at the San Juan Community Theatre, featuring over 70 talented, island performers.
Bill holds a B.A. in English/Minor in Art and has pursued graduate work in Dance and Education. He is an accomplished performer/entertainer and a master dance teacher. He is a Creative Arts Specialist, a Play Therapist for both school-aged children & the elderly, and a certified Laughter Leader. He is also a wonderful dad. He has been a member of a children's theater company, a recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts, and an artist-in-residence many times over, bringing education through the arts to schools up and down the West coast.
Rita majored in Special Education and has been an elementary school teacher & principal. She has been a fashion coordinator/moderator for a well-known East coast clothing designer. She is a great mother, counselor and an alternative well-being practitioner. She is also an inspirational public speaker leading workshops in the fields of physical, mental & spiritual well-being. Rita is a non-denominational ordained minister officiating weddings. As a native of Cuba for her first 11 years, she is bi-lingual in Spanish bilingual and English. Rita has always been delighted to work with children throughout her life.
Together they are an inspiring and dynamic duo. They both have a treasure of knowledge, wisdom and love for children and adults of all ages. They are a lot of fun to be with, have a great sense of humor and are nurturing, uplifting, loving and compassionate. They are very well known for the huge contribution they make in their community.
